Annc. for Feb. 13, 2024 (Winter, Week 6)

Hello Everyone,
This week, I have parent/teacher conferences. This means I will be late so we will start off in sectionals. I would encourage those that work with me to join the sectional groups – WW on stage, BR in orchestra room, PERC in Band Room.
Last week, we tried adding an additional row of seating. I think this worked well. Please try to check the seating arrangement as many changes were made to make us all fit!  (FYI – the chart may appear blurry here on the website, but it’s clear in the email)

  • 4th Tier – Percussion – 3-ish chairs
  • 3rd Tier – xylo – 8-9 chairs (2 bar, 2 tuba, 4-5 tb) – vibes
  • 2nd Tier – 8 & 7 chairs
  • 1st Tier – 7 & 7 chairs
  • Row 2 Floor – 7 & 7 chairs
  • Row 1 Floor – 7 & 6 chairs

Sectionals – 55 minutes

For sectionals, you can expect to work on the following charts:

  • Rhapsody In Blue (New chart, this piece is hard/easy depending on parts, focus on rhythms/notes)
  • Phantom of the Opera (Identify melody, work on balance, phrasing, accents)
  • Mancini (The Sweetheart Tree, any other sections as needed)American River Songs (WW/BR – also work through mm. 72-108)
