Hello All!
It is hard to believe that our first session together is coming to a close! I look forward to another session beginning in January, and am so excited to see new and returning faces. In the meantime, keep listening and playing! Check out a Veterans Day Calibration at a local school! The list goes on…
Sincerely,
— Jenny Leist
Some reminders about tonight’s rehearsal:
- Percussion should report to the Band Room to move equipment to the stage.
- Woodwinds should report to their sectional room and begin to warm up.
- Brass should report to their sectional room to begin to warm up.
- Both WW and Brass should stay in the warm-up room until the stage is set. Plan to bring your stand to and from the stage. I am hoping that the stage will be set around 6:50pm.
- We will run the six selections in concert order with a break around 7:20pm.
When we finish running through the music:
- Please bring your stand back to its respective room and pack up.
- Please return to the stage and help with chairs and percussion equipment for the remainder of rehearsal.
On Saturday / Concert Day:
- Please arrive at Xavier warmed up, tuned, and ready to put on a great show at 1:00pm.
- We will start warm-ups promptly at 1:05pm. They will be very short ~ 10 minutes!
- Instruments may stay in the Band Room — or, if you desire, you may take them with you to the auditorium while you’re enjoying the orchestra performance.
- There will not be an intermission – just a switch of performers. Anything you can do to expedite this change is so appreciated. Consider heading back to the band room when the orchestra has one piece left.
A few more reminders:
- Concert Black
- Cell phones off
- Say nice things about everyone. Keep critical comments inside:)
- ALL music is to be returned as soon as the performance is over. (Including Festmusik and Salute to the Colors) A space to return music will be set up in the Band Room.
- All music should be turned in TODAY if you are unable to attend the performance.
Concert order of music:
- Golden Eagle
- MttS
- Northpointe Fantasy
- NHM
- KoP
